I liked the movie, but I think I like the show better. You make a decent movie like that, and to make an adaptation that tops it overall is a colossal undertaking. No doubt they spent a fortune on this series. The background, the dialogues, the story, everything is top notch. Don’t expect it to be exactly like the movie, because it’s not meant to be, and don’t compare it to the novels (apples to oranges). I haven’t seen the lead actor (Garcia-Rulfo) actually play the lead in anything that I can remember, although he’s appeared in some unusual films over the past decade. He embraces the role very well and I believe we are witnessing his long awaited opportunity. Surprisingly, he embodies the heroic lawyer essence that the role (as well as McConaughey) requires.

If it proves to stand the test of time, like all his previous courtroom dramas, it will surpass anything currently airing (in the genre, of course). In the first 30 minutes, I experienced the same thrills that I remember many years ago. It used to be that we could only watch one episode a week when they were released, but now that we’re in the age of binge watching, I can binge it all in a weekend. I spent a good part of my life with all of David E. Kelly’s works/productions, and I don’t regret a moment of my misspent youth. The only question I have is why did they wait so long for another great one to be born?

Sure, but it’s mainstream these days, and whether we like it or not, the organism that is the entertainment industry is married to this ”culture.” Accept it and move on, or you’re denying yourself some well-deserved indulgences like Lincoln’s lawyer. Dexter creates a believable and highly detailed portrait of a, shall we say troubled, sociopath. One of the parts of the show that I love the most is the emotions that normal people show, thus forcing Dexter to mimic them. A good laugh when Dexter’s feigned emotions become real and he’s scared out of his wits, as in the relationship with his "girlfriend" Rita, mother of two and victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend.

Exciting story, lots of details and one of the best opening scenes ever

I also liked Jennifer Carpenter’s performance as Dexter’s sister Debra, she adds a nice touch to the show without falling into clichés.

STOP! SCREAMING!. I just watched one of the best films of the year. The Athens festival nights have kicked off, and at the opening ceremony, we were lucky enough to catch Anora. And let me tell you, this film absolutely slays.

The lead actress, Mikey Madison, who plays Anora, is an absolute revelation

From the very first scene, you're glued to the screen, and that feeling just doesn't let up. As the movie went on, I kept thinking, "Come on, it has to slow down at some point, right? Give us a breather." Nope, no breaks, no dips, not even a hint of slowdown. Anora has one of the best paces I've ever experienced in a movie.Anora, a sex worker and a tough girl from Brooklyn, meets the son of a Russian oligarch and, in a whirlwind of madness, marries him. But her fairytale quickly turns into a nightmare when the news reaches Russia, and his parents do everything they can to annul their marriage.

He's the most entertaining thing I've seen in a long time

She effortlessly combines sexiness, femininity, childlike innocence, and toughness in a way that leaves you speechless. She's going to go very, very far, and don't be surprised if you see her nominated for an Oscar. Personally, I'd also give a Best Supporting Actor nomination to Mark Eidelshtein, who plays the Russian son. Fantastic.Anora is a punch to the face of the traditional fairytale concept. It's a realistic, violent, raw, funny, and ultimately sweet modern Cinderella story.
